Visking Tube Dialysis Tube LH 22.582

  1. Compositon / Information on Material

REGENERATED CELLULOSE Made from natural cellulose (cotton (inters) by dissolving it in special inorganic solvents and reforming the polymer by removing the solvent to form tubular membranes. The material has the elastic and flaccid characteristics of a gel when wet with water. Regenerated cellulose, like its parent native cellulose, is quite resistant to organic solvents, elevated temperatures and extremes of Ph.

There arc no hazardous ingredients and no special handling will be required.

2′ Storage

The material should be kept away from direct sunlight, extremes of temperature and very low humidity. When not in use the membrane should be kept sealed in the bag supplied.

  1. Physical and chemical properties

Form: Flattened tube

Colour:  Yellowish

Odour: None to slightly sulphurous

Normal supply: Dry

Average flat width:  25 mm

Inflated diameter:  14.3mm -18/32″ (approx)

Normal supplied length: 30 metres (approx)

As well as the natural cellulose described above the following may also be present: Glycerine which acts as a humectaut to prevent brittleness. Trace impurities:

0.1% sulphur, and in ppm Calcium <0.02, Chromium 0.1- 02, Copper 0.8 – 1.2, Iron 20 – 60, Lead 2.0 – 6.0, Magnesium 0.1 – 0.3, Nickel 1.3 – 1.7, Zinc 1.5 – 5.0.

  1. Molecular cutoff 10,000-14000 dalton
